HAMPTONS KIND
because kindness is always in season
WHAT
The Hamptons refers to several villages and hamlets on the east end of Long Island, New York.
While kindness is always in season,
from AUGUST 15th to LABOR DAY
2025
residents and visitors are invited to practice and share simple acts of kindness.
SOME EXAMPLES
1. SMILE - a smile goes a long way and you never know what someone is going through.
2. Pick up litter - especially at the beach - even if it's not yours.
3. Bring cold drinks to workers in the heat.
5. Tip service people generously.
6. Safely let someone merge or turn left in traffic.
7. Let that person with just a few items go ahead of you on the grocery line.
8. Be patient in parking lots.
9. Buy something small from a local vendor or artist and then tell 2 friends about it.
10. Volunteer or donate to a local food pantry or animal shelter.
11. Thank a lifeguard, first responder or volunteer ocean rescuer.
12. Compliment the host at a restaurant.
13. Respect traffic regulations.
What ideas can you come up with?

HOW
What we focus on grows, so not only are you invited to practice kindness and share it, but catch others doing acts of kindness.
Share these moments on social media with the hashtag #HamptonsKind and tag us at @carmeldarienzo on Instagram.
You never know how your kindness can inspire others.
IT'S SIMPLE, YET POWERFUL
1. DO a Kind Act
2. SPOT someone else being kind.
3. SHARE what you have done or seen on Instagram with #HamptonsKind
WHY
Did you ever experience someone mentioning a red car and then all you see are red cars? If you start focusing on kindness and practicing it, you will start seeing it everywhere.
My name is Carmel D'Arienzo. I founded Hamptons Kind as a way to do something about what feels like a decline in civility while honoring the legacy of my very kind and generous parents. There is a community in the Hamptons that many people don't always see. We were blessed to experience the kindness and wisdom of this community as both parents passed their final years at home here.
To pay that kindness forward, to amplify the goodness that already exists here, and to honor my Dad on his first heavenly anniversary, I invite you to participate in Hamptons Kind.

KINDNESS IN
YOUR TOWN
This movement is starting in the Hamptons, but it can apply to any town or city.
Wherever you live, start your own movement and catch yourself and others being kind. #(YourTown)Kind
You'll be amazed at the ripple effect of your actions.
